When you open an America's Mattress Sleep Specialty store, here's what you'll be responsible for:

  • Installing flooring and paint according to our provided custom floor design
  • Installing ceiling in like-new condition (custom lighting plan provided at no cost available if desired)
  • Providing all non-branded Sleep Simple components including specified floor lamps, digital display, bar stools, desk chairs, etc
  • Purchasing some necessary operational items (examples: delivery vehicle, exterior signage, POS system, bed frames, etc.)

We seek self-motivated entrepreneurs who have a strong sense of their local community. You must have a strong drive to succeed and also adhere to our brand standards. Previous experience as an owner or manager in retail preferred but not mandatory. It is essential to have sufficient capital or financial availability to fund start up. Requires the work ethic to support a 7-day work week.

The average retail mattress location ranges from 3,000 – 5,000 sq. ft. with a minimum of 2,500 sq. ft. while the gallery stores require at least 1,200 sq. ft.

For freestanding America’s Mattress stores, a minimum net worth of $150,000 including adequate working capital or $75,000 per store included in the market development plan is normally required, although these amounts may vary by market. We will also run a credit check, expecting a minimum score of 700+ before moving forward with agreements. In regard to America’s Mattress Gallery stores, there are no minimum financial requirements although the existing business into which the gallery is being incorporated must have good credit and be in good standing with vendors.

We work with preferred real estate companies that understand the specific aspects needed for our locations. We also provide a real estate grading system that evaluates basic demographics, competition, visibility, etc. to help determine which sites best fit our program.

The amount of money individual locations can expect to make will vary depending on many factors, including the location and demographics, operating costs, sales, and the overall ability of the individual dealer to operate and manage the business.

The America’s Mattress opportunity is a licensing agreement; therefore there are no franchise fees or royalties to pay – ever!

Your completed application is the first step in determining availability and you can also review the interactive map. We grant our owners exclusive territories so we will compare our current available markets and do our best to accommodate your geographic preference.

We offer training and documentation in varying levels for all pertinent areas of the business. You will work with a team of experts who are there to answer any questions you have about your operation alongside occasional in-person sessions available depending on business model and location. In addition, you have a local sales rep working with you and your staff to address all local product and training needs on a regular basis.

Our licensed retail operation requires a minimum standard of appearance. In other words, we will provide a branded look, along with all instructions and details to ensure your store meets these standards. We change this design from time to time as well as the program to assist in the complete built-out and look.
